PEST CONTROL COASTAL BROWN ANTS
Pest control coastal brown ants requires an understanding of their species.
The Coastal Brown ant is New Zealand's only Bimorphic pest ant. That is, it has two sizes. A small worker ant and a larger guard ant. It is also called the big headed ant as the larger guard ant has a big head.
They are found in Auckland suburbs close to the sea where the soils are more sandy. Commonly found in Onehunga, Point Chevalier and Northcote to name a few.
The Coastal Brown is an outside ant, and loves to eat food with fat a and protein. Customers find their pet food is spoiled by the ants and they are often found in the dishwasher too.

- Mounds of sand. They often nest under pavers and throw up mounds of sand.
- They always nest outside, rarely nesting inside a home.
- They steal your grout! The use this as insulation for their nest. It leaves unsightly holes in your bathroom grout!
- They appear in the shower and kitchen sink out of nowhere! Like magic! Actually its a simple trick. They often nest around the exterior trap for the kitchen and or shower and make their way back up the pipes. This makes them appear in the kitchen sink and/or shower without a trail leading in.
- Very persistent ants. Once food is spilled they suddenly appear from no where!
