There are two types of mice in Auckland.
The House Mouse
The House mouse is the home invader in Auckland. They often move in groups which mean one day you have none and the next day there are quite a few running around your home.
The Field Mouse
The field mouse is commonly found in homes in a country setting. Or businesses with large grassy fields right next to them. They often can appear in high numbers, and often invade homes and businesses in the Autumn. Once in a business they often head for a quiet spot e.g. at the back of the business/warehouse.

-Mice don't drink water!
-Mice get their moisture from their food and don't drink water. So when you hear someone say mice chewed though my water pipes because they were thirsty, you can say that an Urban myth.

ACES pest control attended the NYC Rodent Academy in 2016. Run by the world's premier Rodentologist Dr Bobby Corrigan Ph.D.
The course covered mice and their control extensively. In fact, one of Dr Corrigan's toughest examples in Manhattan Island NYC, involved mice. On the 11th floor of an skyrise, he was called in after mice had returned following three other companies efforts. Dr Corrigan, sought out the key areas he teaches, and discovered the mice were entering the building at the basement, and traveling up the elevator shafts to the 11th floor. Dr Corrigan's course teaches you find the key areas which sets you up for success every time.
MOUSE CONTROL HOW IT WORKS
Successful mice control requires an inspection to acquire three key areas. Access points, trails and nests. Once these three key areas are found we use them to rapidly remove your mice.
Of course we will exclude you, your family and pets from our controls.
The controls will be put in or around these three key areas, and the mice will quickly be controlled and removed from your home or business.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
The time it takes to do a job depends on the size of the home or business and what's involved. A three bedroom home takes an average of 40-60 minutes.
Some jobs may take longer, especially businesses, depending on what needs to be done.
IS IT SAFE?
At ACES pest control we use exclude you, your family and pets from controls. Or we use controls in an excluded area where you dont have access to.
Mice themselves present a much greater risk to your safety as they spread disease. An uncontrolled mouse infestation will result in your and your family eventually becoming seriously ill!
DIY MOUSE CONTROL DOES IT WORK?
Doing DIY you're up against it with mice! DIY baits are often not palatable to the rodents. This often results in the mice not taking enough of the bait and dying inside your home or business.
And there are often a lot of mice. Can you be certain you have got them all? Remember their breeding cycle is quick, just miss one and it all starts again!

A: Nothing. This a NO preparation job
Q: MICE: THE PLUMBER SAID MICE CHEW WATER PIPES BECAUSE THEY ARE THIRSTY
A: NO! Mice don't drink water as they get moisture from their food. They chew the soft plastic mains pressure water pipes as pleasant past time. The mice are as surprised as you are when water comes gushing out of the mains water pipes.
Q: MICE: ARE EASY TO KILL, WHY SHOULD I PAY AN EXTERMINATOR?
A: True mice are stupid easy to kill. But they are rapid breeders. Without the experience of a Professional pest controller, you are unlikely to get them all. Best to trust the professional who nails all of them every time.
Q: MICE: HOW DID THE MICE GET INTO MY HOUSE?
A: Mice are stupid but predictable. For older homes e.g. villas they come up from under house around the pipes. Normally under the kitchen sink. For new homes on a concrete slab, they come in via the garage door. Uncommonly they can come in via trees touching the roof line.
